This volume represents the outcome of three conferences, organized by the BOSMOS network, founded in 2001 with the intention of furthering interdisciplinary approaches to studying the interplays between religion and society in the Graeco-Roman world. The primary purpose of these conferences was to elucidate relatively undr-studied aspects of rituals, resources and constructions of identity in the ambience of Graeco-Roman religions. By offering an international framework for rising questions and debate in these fields we hoped to encourage new opinions and perspectives on religion and society in the ancient world.
